SELECTION COMPARISON

Overview

Weintek's main products currently on sale are divided into two lines: the iP series is a standard touch screen that meets conventional site operation and monitoring needs; the cMT X series is positioned higher and goes further in display specifications and system architecture (supporting IIoT, multi-screen interconnection and other functions).

If you just want to replace an old screen and make regular buttons and numerical displays, the iP series is usually enough.

If your project has requirements for display, remote access, or system integration, you should consider cMT X.

How to Decide

  1. Determine the installation opening size first - when replacing an old screen, the opening size is often a hard constraint and should be confirmed first.
  2. Determine the complexity of the displayed content - just displaying buttons and values, iP is enough; if you need to display more information or a graphical interface, choose cMT X with a higher resolution.
  3. Confirm communication protocol - The PLC brand and communication method to be connected must be confirmed in advance.
  4. Do you need remote access or multiple screens – choose cMT X when you need it.
  5. Project File Compatibility – When migrating from older models, project files may need to be converted in EasyBuilder Pro and the interface re-adjusted.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I replace my old MT series with?

Available in current iP or cMT X depending on size and functionality requirements. Note the hole size, interface location and project file conversion, see our Weintek Legacy → cMT X replacement page for details.

Can the project files be used directly?

When migrating across series, project files usually need to be converted, and the screen layout needs to be readjusted due to resolution changes, so they cannot be opened and run directly.

Can they be replaced directly if they are the same size?

The same dimensions shown do not mean the installation openings are the same. Before replacement, the hole size, thickness and interface location should be confirmed. If necessary, the part number and installation photos of the existing screen should be provided.

Can the cMT X part-number suffix be omitted?

No. The complete part number of the cMT X series includes suffix information. Different suffixes correspond to different configurations. The complete part number must be retained when purchasing.
