MODEL CODE GUIDE
Overview
The complete ordering code consists of four parts: "series prefix + power code + voltage class + structure suffix".
Take ATV320U15N4C as an example: ATV320 is the series prefix, U15 is the power code, N4 is the voltage class, and C is the structural form.
Just writing about ATV320U15 is incomplete, because the voltage class and structural form have not been determined, and it is impossible to place an order directly.
code structure table
| field | Meaning | example |
|---|---|---|
| ATV320 | Series prefix (Altivar Machine, mechanical equipment type) | — |
| U15 / D11 | power code | U15 = 1.5kW; series power codes starting with D directly correspond to kW number, such as D11 = 11kW |
| N4 | voltage class | 380–500V three-phase |
| C / B | construction | C = Compact, B = Book |
power-code reference
| power code | Corresponding power | power code | Corresponding power |
|---|---|---|---|
| U04 | 0.37 kW | U40 | 4 kW |
| U06 | 0.55 kW | U55 | 5.5 kW |
| U07 | 0.75 kW | U75 | 7.5 kW |
| U11 | 1.1 kW | D11 | 11 kW |
| U15 | 1.5 kW | D15 | 15 kW |
| U22 | 2.2 kW | U30 | 3 kW |
voltage-class reference
| code | voltage range | phases |
|---|---|---|
| M2 | 200–240V | single-phase |
| M3 | 200–240V | three-phase |
| N4 | 380–500V | three-phase |
| S6 | 525–600V | three-phase |
Selection Notes
Before confirming the voltage class, first confirm the site power supply system. Single-phase and three-phase cannot be mixed.
The installation dimensions of Book (B) type and Compact (C) type are different, and the structural form needs to be confirmed before panel design.
For process application-oriented series such as ATV630 / ATV930, the power code rules are not completely consistent with this table, and most of them are IP21/IP54 wall-mounted structures. If you need to confirm the specific model, it is recommended to provide the load parameters for us to check.
Frequently Asked Questions
What power do U15 and U22 power codes correspond to?
U15 corresponds to 1.5kW, and U22 corresponds to 2.2kW; the power code of ATV320 must be checked item by item according to the official ordering table; for example, U15=1.5kW, U22=2.2kW. U04/U06/U07, etc. do not satisfy the simple "multiply by 0.1" rule and cannot be deduced using the formula.
Can the encoding rules of ATV320 be directly applied to ATV630?
cannot. ATV320 is for mechanical equipment (OEM), and the coding logic is subject to this table; ATV630 is for process applications, and the power code and structure rules are different and need to be checked separately.
The part number on the nameplate is partially worn and unrecognizable. Can you confirm it?
Yes, you can provide some identifiable characters, motor power or application scenarios, and we will assist in deriving the complete ordering code.
Need help confirming a part number or application?
Send the complete part number, BOM, nameplate or product photos. Documents and images can be shared through WhatsApp, Telegram or WeChat.
