S7-300 purchases must be based on the complete MLFB. The same CPU name has multiple 6ES7 ordering codes under different hardware versions, interface combinations and security versions. You cannot place an order by just writing "CPU315".

Is the S7-300 still available?
Different MLFBs have different life cycles and channel inventories and should be checked against the complete 6ES7 ordering code. There is continued MRO demand for high-installation models.
What is the successor platform to the S7-300?
New projects should usually evaluate SIMATIC S7-1500; the migration involves program, I/O, communication, rack and wiring, not a direct CPU swap.
CPU315-2 PN/DP Can I just write the name to inquire?
Not recommended. If there are different hardware/ordering versions of the same name, a complete MLFB or a clear photo of the nameplate must be provided.
Do old project procedures need to be provided together?
For migration assessment, it is best to provide STEP 7/TIA project information, module list and network topology; for pure original model spare parts procurement, MLFB is sufficient first.
